NIKB Official Dan Grading Exams

The establishment of the NI Karate board’s official Dan grading structure took place on the 31st May 2014.
Current members of the Northern Ireland Karate Board, sat the 1st Dan (Black Belt) Examination.

President and Chief Technical examiner for the Karate Board, who administered the exam, Sensei Oliver Brunton, highlighted why this was such an important step for Karate in Northern Ireland, “This new initiative now establishes a standard of Karate that clubs, local councils and members of the wider public can take confidence in. They can be assured that those who hold the qualification have reached the required standard of technical proficiency by an independent examination method.
I’m delighted that this is now in place and available to anyone of any Karate style, to come forward and take the exam”

Congratulations to the first successful students, who now have the national qualification of 1st Dan in Karate;
