Karate is Clean – Anti-Doping
The NIKW takes the safety and integrity of Karate competitions seriously.
As part of this the NIKW conforms and upholds all anti-doping policies as laid out by the governing body of the sport, the Northern Ireland Karate Board (NIKB).
You can find many of the guidelines here at the NIKB website
The NIKW encourages its athletes, coaches and other personnel involved to be aware of anti-doping guidelines and educate themselves on what the procedures are and what the latest guidelines and banned substances are.
We promote the use of the UKAD clean sport hub, as a great tool to use, to ensure athletes and others are aware of the latest changes to banned substances, what to do when an athlete needs to apply for a “Therapeutic Use Exemption”, and how to report any concerns or ask questions you might have.

Athletes should use the 100% me education tool.
It is just for athletes. It’s UKAD’s education and information programme to help athletes throughout their sporting journey.
Download the 100% me Clean Sport App for everything you need to know about clean sport in one place.
