The NIKW held it’s annual Kata Course on the weekend of the 7th & 8th April.
All members got the chance to train together, receiving world class tuition from Sensei Oliver Brunton 7th Dan JKF.
Kata training is a critical element in developing good Karate technique.
It develops many aspects of technique, such as balance, zanshin (awareness), and focus.
Many members took the opportunity to put themselves forward for a grading examination. This gives students the confidence that they are progressing and developing correct technique. Congratulations to those who passed. For those who didn’t quite make the standard this time, there will be opportunities in the near future. All members should be proud that their grade is well earned and is of a quality standard examined by a world class examiner.
