Young members and their families came together to complete the final league meeting of the year.
Competitors fought it out to see who could secure the final rounds for the 2018 league.
Before the competition kicked off, members and families congratulated Sensei James Brunton, who qualified as a WKF Kumite coach at the recent world championships in Madrid. Parents heard that James is the only person in Northern Ireland with the prestigious qualification, and having such a knowledgeable instructor within their association was a big advantage for members aiming to develop to the highest levels.
Congratulations to the winners on the night who were:
1st – Tierna Lavery
2nd Olaf Liwerski
3rd Grace Rogan
4th Niamh Lagan
5th Ruchithaa Rudramuni
Sensei Oliver Brunton, Chief Instructor and President of the Northern Ireland Karate Board (NIKB) commented, “it has been tremendous to see the improvement of so many students over the year. In such a short space of time, those who have been regularly training and competing so enthusiastically in the league, have improved greatly in their speed, focus and quality of techniques.”
