NIKW Students at Mid Ulster Karate Championships

The NIKW had a fantastic day at the recent Mid-Ulster karate championships, on 26th April 2019, at Banbridge Leisure Centre.

Everyone who took part did themselves proud with several of our young karate-ka taking gold in both their Kata(technical event) and Kumite (sparring) categories.

Our team of youngsters were bursting with confidence as they showed off their karate skills in the competition arena. At the same time they showed respect for each other and their fellow competitors and the championship officials. They handled the pressure well, both off and on the mats and were in control of their emotions as they faced their fellow competitors.

Those who didn’t win medals accepted the decision and the spirit of karate competition. Everyone who took part in the championships are all winners in our eyes.
We look forward to participating in more competitions during the rest of the year.
