NIKW Young stars perform at European Karate Federation Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships

Two of the brightest Young students in the NIKW travelled to Prague recently to take part in the EKF Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate championships. Thomas Bell & Katelynn McCracken participated in their kumite events and performed well with each scoring a number of well executed points in their matches, however eventually loosing out to their opponents from Portugal & Greece. Such a high level event simply competing at this level is such an achievement.
Sensei James Brunton, kumite coach for the NIKW attended the event advising the young karate-ka, using his many years of elite international competition experience. Commenting on the event, Sensei James Brunton said,

“This is such a difficult and technically high standard competition. I am so proud of them both. We are now seeing results from the many years of training including the recent intensive training sessions. They did really well, making some well executed points but we also learned so much and have many things to work on to develop for next time”.
